Burns Court is a 1 block area of homes located in a block behind 418 - 446 N. Pineapple on Sarasota's south side, the street is named Burns Ct. Stroll back in time as you walk by these Mediterranean Revival style homes. They are one-story stucco homes with Spanish Revival and Mission Revival motifs and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These homes were built during 1924 - 1925 by the prominent Chicago developer Owen Burns.

The properties on Burns Court are now artist's galleries/homes, shops, and restaurants. You can find art and antiques. Burns Court Cinema is the cornerstone of the neighborhood and features the best independent and foreign films. This is the site of the annual Cineworld Film Festival.

These properties are not available very often and they do sell quickly when one comes on the market. The most recent 4 sales were during the past three years and range from $585,000 - $920,000. Currently one is for sale at $599,000.

Burns Court homes were built in 1924 -1925. There are 15 buildings within 1 block. The homes are of Mediterranean Revival style with Spanish Colonial Revival and Mission Revival motifs. The homes / studios are 1-story, stucco bungalows, all in the same style, designed by Thomas Reed Martin. Built as Sarasota's first "cooperative home subdivision," the 15 bungalows with garages are remarkably intact. National Registration of Historic Places designation was 1984.
