The beautiful, 1736
seat, Roskamp Auditorium was recently renovated in 2001 thanks
to a generous $1,000,000 contribution from
Sarasota residents Bob and Diane
Roskamp. The original European seat theatre was designed by
commissioned chief architect, William Wesley Peters. Legend
performers such as Tony Bennet have been known to express their
regard of the acoustical dynamics by stopping the orchestra to
present an acappella solo to the audience in appreciation.
