Be careful - visiting Siesta Key often creates a desire to live here! Property on Siesta varies from condos to homes, gulf front, bay front, or interior properties with or without boat docks. The beach is often within walking distance. There are newer and established neighborhoods with winding roads, mature trees and lush foliage. Many full-time residents call this home.

Siesta Key is a friendly key with many beach accesses and public parking, yet it has maintained the feel of a neighborhood. The Village is just north east of the public beach, offering shopping, dining and entertainment. On the south end of the key, there are restaurants and shops.

It is nice to see undeveloped beach areas, wild sea oats and mangroves along the Intra-coastal that gives protection and nesting areas for thousands of native island birds. Mote Marine has identified several hundred dolphins in the Sarasota Bay area. (The oldest is named Mamma Mia, age 52 and she had her last calf at age 48!) There are gentle manatees that swim around the passes and in the Intra-coastal, eating grasses. If you see yellow tape around some markers on the beach, that is marking a turtle nest.

Sarasota is a convenient place to travel in, everything is "about 20 minutes" or less away. The people are friendly and the days usually have blue skies, plenty of sunshine and gentle gulf breezes. Bring you camera to the beach to catch a brilliant sunsets close almost every day.
